Studio Visit and Talk Sunday 26 May 2pm-4:30pm at Cockburn Halls, Ormiston, EH35 5JB (Unit 3 & 6). Part of a series of SGS Studio Visits and Meetups throughout Scotland in 2024. We are delighted to arrange a visit to Kate Henderson’s workshop in Ormiston where she will give an illustrated talk about her glass. Kate has invited glass artist Douglas Hogg to participate in this event too to discuss a life in stained glass, early beginnings, recent thoughts. Image above (Left) – Kate Henderson’s work, Image above (Right) – Douglas Hogg’s work Timetable for the afternoon: 2pm – Arrive at unit 3 – Introductions. 2:10-2:55pm – First presentation -Illustrated talk by Kate Henderson- Memorial – a personal response with glass. 3:00-3:45pm – Second presentation by Douglas Hogg- A life in stained glass- early beginnings, recent thoughts 3:45-4:30pm – Discussion and Q & A about talks. Tea, coffee and cake provided 4:30-5pm – Optional tour around Kate’s workshop and chat about recent projects (Unit 6) 5pm – Close Getting to Cockburn Halls Cockburn Halls is on corner of Main Street and George Street in Ormiston, EH35 5JB. Please arrive at Unit 3. Via Bus – From Edinburgh take the East Coast Bus number 113 from Princess Street to Pencaitland. Get off at the George Street stop in Ormiston Via Car – Limited on street parking is available, please respect local residents.
