The Stevens Competition for Architectural Glass

The Stevens Architectural Glass Competition 2015
University of Wales Trinity St David Alex Road Campus, Swansea
A new archway entrance to the Glass Department.

The annual Stevens Architectural Glass Competition is open to students and glass artists who have completed their training within the last five years. Since 2009 it has been one of the national competitions in the portfolio of Worldskills UK, which is backed by Government, and which holds national competitions to encourage best practice in practical and vocational occupations.

The 2015 competition provides a unique opportunity for emerging glass artists to design for the entranceway to the renowned School of Glass, now part of the Faculty of Art and Design. We strongly recommend that entrants take the opportunity to make a formal or informal visit to see the glass department and to assess the location, see the brief for site visit arrangements. We wish to emphasise that, although the brief this year is for a location at one of the UK’s most well known and established glass departments, the 2015 Stevens Competition is open to all eligible glass artists and designers. As a competition entrant from anywhere in the United Kingdom you will be required to provide a Nom de Plume, to identify your entry, since judging by the professional panel is strictly anonymous and impartial.

All entries to the 2015 Stevens Competition must be at Glaziers Hall by 5.00 p.m. on Thursday 9th April accompanied by a completed Entry Form, ready for the judging on Monday 13th April.
