Pre Course
Students will have two images of their own to print A5 in size and the artist will liaise with you by email beforehand and prep the screens for you to use. At the end of the course you can have the option to buy the screens with your images on if you wish. The artist will also being a number of stock screens for use as well.
Day 1
- Printing Vs painting
- Image section
- Glass selection
- Screen type
- Photoshop preparation of images for transparency making
- Hand drawn stencil making
- The process of screen preparation using photosensitive emulsion (screens for an offsite course are prepared for you in advance)
- Making stencils by hand with no chemicals.
- Glass preparation
Day 2
- Paint selection and mixing techniques
- Screen printing on glass using paint and enamel.
- Multi-layered printing
- Hand cut stencilling
You will take home a number of screen prints on glass – ready to fire. You might like to bring a tray/blu tack to transport these home safely.

| Additional Information | There will be 8 participants on each course. Tea/Coffee/Water will be provided and participants should bring their own lunch. There are plenty cafés/supermarkets in the local area if you want to pick something up on the day. Please be aware that Glasgow City Council are introducing a Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) from June 2023. This venue is in the LEZ. If your vehicle is petrol and older than 2006 or diesel and older than 2015 you will be fined for entering the zone. |
| Cancellation Policy | If you cancel within 14 days of the Master Class you will lose your payment unless SGS can find a replacement participant. |
