Made in Aberdeen Artists’ Bursaries

Aberdeen City Council is awarding five bursaries to Aberdeen City-based artists and makers for the development and creation of new work, to support new collaborations or training, or for artistic development and experimentation.

Aberdeen City Council is committed to supporting the development of arts and culture in the city. The concept of ‘Made in Aberdeen’ is tied to the recognition that the city is home to a wealth of creative and artistic talent but that both the support and profile of this needs developed.

The Made in Aberdeen initiative aims to both increase the support for, and profile of, this talent; it is about having confidence in the city’s creative individuals, about nurturing and supporting Aberdeen’s talent and finding new ways of showcasing it to a much wider local, national and international audience.

Made in Aberdeen includes the following support initiatives:

  • Artists’ Bursaries
  • Artists’ Commissions
  • Emerging Talent Prize
  • Made In Aberdeen Films

The Made in Aberdeen Artists’ Bursaries are now open for applications. Five awards of up to £2,000 are available to artists working in any art form to support the creation, development and/or presentation of new work; participation in development opportunities such as residencies or training courses; facilitate new collaborations; or to support artistic development and experimentation.
