HOT GLASS BLOWER/ASSISTANT POSITION

Hours: F/T 37.5 – 39.5 hrs pw

Position: Permanent/or Term Contracted

Glasstorm is a highly respected contemporary glass making facility in the Highland town of Tain. The studio creates commercial glass works for many sectors including shop/gallery retail, trophies/awards and creates public and private commissions. In recent years the studio creates bespoke bottles for the luxury drinks industry using traditional glassblowing techniques. The studio while being small has a high output and all studio team members play an integral part of its success. GLASSTORM can now offer the position of Glassmaking Hot Glass Blower/Assistant to the right enthusiastic hot glass worker.

The Current job opportunity is available for immediate start but flexibility in starting date may be considered for the right applicant. Our aim is to have the position filled for January 6th 2020.

The role is for a full time Glassblower/ Studio Assistant (emphasis on Hot Glass) who can professionally and efficiently assist in the making of glass works alongside our production team. The successful applicant in addition to the manufacturing of works must be flexible in their duties and willing to take instruction.

Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applicants with no previous glassblowing experience.

The studio is located in the picturesque Highland town of Tain in Ross-shire, Scotland. This coastal area offers picturesque landscape including golden beaches, hills, mountains and lochs – while being only 45min commute to Inverness airport and city. Easter Ross is a fantastic place to live with a rich heritage and good local amenities.
