Glorious Glass! CALL FOR ENTRIES SGS / CGS joint exhibition 2018

CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 30th June, 2018

We are delighted to call for entries to our exhibition. The application pack including form and information is now available to download

This year we will be joined by the Contemporary Glass Society’s members based in Scotland. CGS is celebrating its 20th anniversary (2017) by holding a series of exhibitions throughout Great Britain. We liked the theme CGS has chosen and the aims of its exhibitions and so have adopted these for our joint endeavour.

The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate just how utterly glorious and amazing contemporary glass is so that everyone can appreciate and enjoy its magical colours, textures, use of light and variety of techniques and also discover our Scottish glass artists. The work displayed will feature a wide range of techniques from hot blown forms, fused glass, stained glass panels, pâte de verre, engraving, jewellery, cast glass and more. Each artist will explain why glass is glorious to them and why they have chosen the pieces on display to express that passion for their chosen material. All the work on display will be for sale and should be made since March 2016.

This will be an open exhibition and we would encourage as many members as possible to exhibit with us. There is an entry fee of £25 per application, £15 for students and this entitles you to include a maximum of three entries per member. In addition, for those unable to invigilate for half a day there will be a one-off fee of £15.

Time to get cracking!

Here are the documents you’ll need:

GLORIOUS GLASS – Application 2018 and GLORIOUS GLASS – Information to Keep when you are applying, and GLORIOUS GLASS – Delivery Note when you are sending/bringing your work to the exhibition.
