“GLASS MEADOW” at Veneer Gallery

PREVIEW on Friday 14th of July, 7pm – 10pm

Cressa is a Glasgow-based glass artist, working mainly with kiln-formed Bullseye opaque glass. Her work is fresh, vibrant and colourful; her pieces draw on her love of botanical forms, and give a playful interpretation of the stylised retro designs of the 1950s.

Cressa produces a range of distinctive contemporary designs including tableware, wall lighting and one-off commission pieces. She has also created installation art pieces such as her Glass Meadow, an interior wall installation inspired by her deep love for flowers, colour and contrast.
Cressa uses a combination of strong colour and fine detail to create functional yet strikingly beautiful pieces. It is important to her that her work imparts the sense of playfulness and joy with which it is made.
This solo exhibition introduces a new series of work, ‘Awakening’, which is an extension of the Glass Meadow concept.
Also on show will be a range of tableware and wall lighting. The Veneer Gallery will be transformed for ten days in to a glass meadow bursting with colour and beauty.
