BBC Radio 2 Artist in Residence

The search has begun for BBC Radio 2’s first ever Artist in Residence.

BBC Radio 2 are looking for a professional artist to undertake a 12 month residency at Radio 2, getting a golden pass to attend some of the most exciting arts and music events across the year, such as Glastonbury, Edinburgh Festivals and the BBC Music Awards.

In response, they are asked to create at least 4 artistic responses.

Are you an artist and think this is for you? You can work in any medium – you could be a poet, a sculptor, a painter, or a multi-media artist – but there will need to be a digital aspect to the presentation of the work you devise as the work will be showcased on the Radio 2 website, BBC Arts Online and The Space.

The Space will provide a bursary of £15,000 and will separately cover all materials and expenses up to a maximum budget of £20,000, so this is not a scheme to be sniffed at!

And there’s more….your work will be judged by one of the UK’s most iconic artists, Sir Peter Blake; and should you be successful in your application, we have secured leading figures in the world of Arts to offer their services as a mentor.

If this has whetted your artistic appetite and you want to find out more, check out the terms and conditions. Applications should be sent to by midnight on Sunday 10th May. For details of how to apply, visit the BBC Radio 2 website. Good luck!
